1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing basilisk.rothackers.com or downloading, installing, or using any software published under the Basilisk project (including but not limited to the CLI tool, Desktop application, Python package, and documentation), you agree to be legally bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms").

If you do not agree to these Terms, you must immediately discontinue use and delete all copies of the Software and its associated materials.

2. License

Basilisk is released under the MIT License. You are free to use, copy, modify, merge, publish, distribute, sublicense, and/or sell copies of the Software, subject to the conditions of the MIT License and these Terms.

The MIT License does not grant you any rights to use the Basilisk name, logo, or branding for promotional or endorsement purposes without prior written consent from Regaan / Rot Hackers.

3. Eligibility

You represent and warrant that:

• You are at least 18 years of age or the age of majority in your jurisdiction
• You possess the legal capacity to enter into binding agreements
• You are not prohibited from using security testing tools under any applicable law
• You will use Basilisk solely for lawful, authorized purposes

4. User Responsibilities

When using Basilisk, you agree to:

• Obtain explicit written authorization before testing any AI/LLM system you do not own
• Comply with all applicable local, national, and international laws and regulations
• Not use the Software to disrupt, damage, or gain unauthorized access to any system
• Not redistribute or repurpose generated attack payloads for malicious intent
• Responsibly disclose any vulnerabilities discovered using Basilisk to the affected system owner
• Maintain documentation of your authorization and testing scope for audit purposes

5. Intellectual Property

The Basilisk project, including its codebase, documentation, website content, design assets, and branding, is the intellectual property of Regaan and Rot Hackers. The open-source license applies to the code only and does not transfer ownership of the project or its trademarks.

Attack payloads, scan results, and reports generated by Basilisk during authorized assessments are the intellectual property of the person or organization conducting the assessment.

6. Third-Party Services

Basilisk integrates with third-party LLM providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Azure, AWS Bedrock, Ollama, and others). Your use of these services is governed by each provider's own terms of service and acceptable use policies. You are solely responsible for ensuring your use of Basilisk complies with the policies of any third-party provider you connect to.

7. No Warranty

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT THE SOFTWARE WILL BE ERROR-FREE, UNINTERRUPTED, OR THAT IT WILL DETECT ALL VULNERABILITIES IN A TARGET SYSTEM. THE ABSENCE OF FINDINGS DOES NOT IMPLY THE TARGET IS SECURE.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, REGAAN, ROT HACKERS, AND ALL CONTRIBUTORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SOFTWARE.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Regaan, Rot Hackers, and all contributors from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Software, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any applicable law.

10. Termination

We reserve the right to revoke access, suspend distribution, or modify these Terms at any time without prior notice. Upon termination, you must cease all use of the Software and destroy all copies in your possession.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India.

12. Modifications

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the Software after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
